About

My name is Jennifer Stoddard. Right now, I’m attending Reformation Fellowship (OPC), but we only get to be here for a total of four Sundays since we’re moving to Wheaton to Bethel OPC. I got married in August 2010.

I graduated from the University of California, Davis in December of 2006 with an A.B. in History (emphasis pre-industrial Europe) and a minor in Latin. I then spent 2007 at The Master’s College getting a certificate in Biblical Studies. In Fall of 2008, I began my studies at Westminster Seminary California in the Historical Theology program, which I successfully completed in Spring 2011.

The phrase “per caliginem” means “through the darkness”. I chose it as the title for my blog because I am writing my way through various theological issues and the general messiness that is more commonly known as “life”. I chose “accensus” for the blog address because “per caliginem” is really long, and I wanted a word to complement it — it’s a perfect passive participle that means “having been illuminated”. I realised this morning (11/1) that “accensa” would probably have been more appropriate, but what’s done is done.

post scriptum — For the curious, the banner image is my own; I took the picture in the Scottish Highlands.
